Professional Development
Professional Development (PD) is the key to ensuring that PTGAA members have the knowledge and skills needed to deliver the highest quality guiding experience.
- PD improves your ability to undertake your job
- PD helps you keep pace with changing technology and knowledge in the dynamic environment of the library and information sector
- PD ensures you maintain a competitive edge
- PD builds self esteem and enhances your career opportunities
- PD provides assurance to your employer and the community that you are keeping yourself up-to-date
Guidelines:
To participate, the PD program is based on a point system. Members must accrue a minimum of ten (10) points per year. You are encouraged to either undertake Self-motivated or PDs arranged by the PTGAA Executive. Points are attained by:
- Undertaking self-motivated PDs at a rate of 2 points per PD.
- AND Undertaking a minimum of 2 organised PDs each year – PD points vary
Technical Requirements:
A Certificate will be presented to each member who completes the minimum requirements. This is handed to each participant at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). To qualify you must submit by 30 July each year:
- An activity log-sheet listing all attended PDs
- A report for each Self Directed PD
- Confirmation that you undertook the Self Directed PD i.e., receipt/s ticket/s
